Adam Tallman (Université du Texas à Austin) "The morphotactic and syntactic ordering of bound morphemes in Chácobo (Pano, Bolivia"
This paper provides a detailed description of the ordering of bound morphemes in Chácobo in relation to current typological work on affix ordering (e.g. Manova & Aronoff 2010; Rice 2011; inter alia). This paper is also engaged with the division between morphology and syntax and its relationship to morpheme ordering. Not all bound morphemes in Chácobo can be reasonably considered morphotactically organized, i.e. placed within a morphological/grammatical word. I refer to bound morphemes that are morphotactically placed as affixes, and bound morphemes that are syntactically placed as clitics (cf. Spencer and Luis 2012). I then compare morphotactic ordering with syntactic ordering in Chácobo from a typological perspective, keeping in mind the distinction between templatic and layered ordering.
