SCIENTIFIC MEDIATION

The Dynamique Du Langage research unit has been involved for several years to share its knowledge and share it with the general public. This moment of sharing and transmission is made via participation in scientific events, recurrent scientific mediation actions such as the science festival, the Pop'Science festival, the day of the DYS, the week of the brain ... and well others.

CONFERENCE - ROUNDTABLE- Agnès Witko


Agnès Witko presented "Considering developmental singularities related to bi- or multilingual experience. The languages present within the family facing the language project carried by school/education/care spaces" in Vaulx-en-Velin on November 9, 2023.

Agnès Witko participated in the roundtable "Language and Parenthood. Welcoming the child and their languages" in Clermont-Ferrand on December 2, 2023.


CONFERENCE - Stéphanie Gobet


On November 21, 2023, from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, Stéphanie Gobet presented 'Recognizing Sign Language to define deaf children as bilingual students' during the study days 'Family Languages and School Literacies: Contributions and inequalities in access' that took place on November 21st and 22nd in Arcachon. The event was organized by the INSPE of the University of Bordeaux, LACES (Laboratoire Cultures-Education-Sociétés), and the FrancophoNéA Network.


CONFERENCE - Open University


Alice Roy gave a lecture in the "Communication and Language" module as part of the Open University of Lyon 1. The lecture, titled " Embodiment of Language: an Embodied Approach to Cognition," took place on October 16, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Mediathèque Paul Zech, Lyon Health East Campus.

SCIENCE FESTIVAL 2023


Every year, the research unit Dynamique Du Langage participates in the Science Festival. This year, the research unit was present on October 7th and 8th, 2023, for the general public, and on October 9th for schools.
  • Saturday, October 7th: It was possible to come and play to [kosmopoli:t] and discover baby sign language during a "Journey to the Center of Language" from 10am to 6pm on the Berges du Rhône Campus of the Lumière Lyon 2 University.
  • Sunday, October 8th: It was possible to explore "The Discovery of World Languages" by playing to [kosmopoli:t] and delve into linguistic diversity through workshops from 10am to 12pm at the Orliénas Library, Place François Blanc (69530). Reservation required.
  • Monday, October 9th: For school groups, DDL lead "Adventures in Language Sciences" workshops at the Science Village at MSH Lyon throughout the day.


NIGHT OF THE RESEARCHERS 2023


The European Night of Researchers 2023 tok place on Friday, September 29, 2023. DDL was represented in Saint-Étienne, at the Quartier Manufacture Cité du design, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. You could have met the young researchers:
  • Laurène Barbier and Tessa Vermeir who were leading a workshop titled "Lingua Incognita". You could have found them at the Centre des Savoirs pour l'Innovation.

  • Virgile Daunay who was leading a Theatre mediation module titled "We were, we are, we will be". You could have found him at Building 242 East during the evening.

PINT OF SCIENCE 2023


On May 22, 2023, for the first evening of the Pint of Science 2023 festival, a festival where we drink beers while listening to scientists presenting subjects they care about, Elisa Demuru will speak in an evening entitled "Animal communication: from sounds to behavior". "The Hippies of the Forest? Bonobos between Myth and Reality" in the bar Tire-toi une bûche at 71 Rue Bugeaud 69006, Lyon.

POP'SCIENCE FESTIVAL 2023


The 4th edition of the Pop'Sciences festival will take place from May 12 to 14, 2023 in Villeurbane. On this occasion you will be able to find, at the Raphaël De Barros sports complex, Laurène Barbier, Jennifer Krzonowski, et Lucie Métral who will lead workshops on the diversity of languages around the theme From one language to another.

INVENTION OF HUMOR


On February 28 at 7pm at the Longessaigne multi-purpose room, Katarzyna Pisanski will give a presentation to the general public and then, with Fanny Vialle and Florent Vivert, two clowns in a day hospital, will discuss current research on laughter with the public.

This intervention takes place during a public rehearsal of the company La Dernière Baleine, after a creation residency at La Fabrik, for their new show « Le Tonnerre dans la Montagne - la naissance du rire » qui interroge sur l'invention de l'humour.


CONFERENCE


Françoise ROSE will lead the conference "À la découverte des 6 000 langues du monde" at the Centre Multimédia of Lamastre on March 1st at 5pm for the Université Populaire du Vivarais.


SCIENTIFIC MEDIATION WORKSHOPS

Since 2013, we've been developing a range of scientific mediation workshops around the research unit's research themes. We offer three activities per workshop, but each activity can be offered independently. These workshops have been developed with the general public in mind, so they are suitable for both children and adults (click on the images for a description in French of the workshops):
